Charlie is 11 months old today! On our next monthly post, he'll be an entire year old! Time flies when you have kids.... this has been a big month for Charlie. He is doing so many new things. Here's the run down on what he's been up to this month...
Charlie is still taking two naps a say, although it is difficult for us to fit two naps in most days because we are always on the move. Every time I go into Charlie's room to get him when he wakes up, he ALWAYS lays his head on my shoulder and snuggles up to me and pats my back. It's one of my favorite parts of the day!
Charlie has started to give kisses. It's so cute. He's also realized that he enjoys receiving kisses too. If you give him a kiss on the cheek, he'll lean in again and again, pressing his cheek to your lips in an attempt to elicit more kisses. It is so stinking adorable.
Charlie still has some shy tendancies. He likes to bury his face in my shoulder when he gets a little too shy.
Charlie has the cutest little laugh ever. He things his brother is the funniest person on the planet. Jack will get so silly trying to make Charlie laugh. It's quite the sight.
Charlie finally got some teeth! His two bottom teeth came through this month, and it looks like his top two teeth are not far behind.
The most common words Charlie says these days are: no, ball, Jack, Mama, and Dada.
Charlie has also started standing on his own. He'll let go of a table or chair or our hands and just stand. He's really pretty good at balancing. Yesterday, he even attempted his first unassisted step. Of course he fell down right after, but at least it is a start. I wonder if he'll be walking by his first birthday?
Charlie loves to walk around while holding onto our hands.
This month, once Charlie gets my attention, he scrunches his nose, gets a big grin, and leans his head as far back as he can. He thinks that this is the funniest game ever.
He's also started doing this other thing... when you talk to him sometimes, he'll stare at you, and then close his eyes for a really long time and then slowly open them up and stare at you again. It's almost like he's thinking, "oh, no. Not this conversation again! Gimme a break!". It's really funny.
Charlie is a super fast crawler and he is always trying to climb on absolutely everything. I have to keep a really close eye on him.
Charlie is slowly but surely learning how to drink from a bottle and sippy cup. He's still nursing though because he just isn't quite interested in the cup situation yet.
Charlie is constantly cruising around on the furniture.
Charlie's favorite person in the whole world is his dad. He loves Gordy so much.
Balls are Charlie's toy of choice these days. He can't get enough of them. He also loves to play in the sandbox.
Charlie likes to play peek-a-boo. He stands at the coffee table, bends down until his head is beneath the table and then pops up and says "BOO!".
Charlie likes to sing along when he hears other people singing. It's darling.
Probably my favorite new development this month is Charlie's discovery of dancing! When he hears a fast song, he dances by bending one of his legs, it almost looks Elvis-like. The funny thing is that he does it perfectly in time with the music too! So great!
Charlie is SUCH a good baby. He is such a cutie pie and a joy to our family. He has such a calmness and sweetness about him. We sure to love having him in our family!
