The boys and I flew from Indiana to Salt Lake with Gordon and Sandy and Stevey. It was so nice to have help from them on the air plane, but that left Gordy at home, on his own to finish the last little bit of packing, cleaning, and driving cross country....
As soon as we got to Lolly and Pop's house, the boys immediately fell in love with the brand new sandbox that Lolly and Pop built. That thing is the greatest ever, I can not tell you how many hours it has occupied my boys!
Pretty much as soon as we got here, Jack, Gordy, and I all caught a terrible stomach bug. I lost 7 lbs in three days. It was horrendous. Maybe it would have been worth it if the 7 lbs stayed off...
Jack was really anxious to see the temple, so we walked around temple square and went to the visitor's center. The boys loved it there, and the landscaping, as usual, is just gorgeous.
We've had dance parties in the garage while Pop plays the drums!
Jack tried slack-lining with Uncle Steve...
We visited Aunt Maureen in her rest home a few times. I love bringing the boys to visit her, because all of the old people light up when the see little ones. It's a lot of fun. Once, Jack decided he wanted to join in on the game of Bingo happening in the common room, so Gordon helped him out.
Jack and Charlie have spent a lot of time with Lolly and Pop out in the yard.
Jack, of course, still loves pretty girls and he finds them every where we go.
Tyler and Scout were duck-sitting for some friends. This duck pecked Charlie's nose just after this picture was taken, and he was not at all happy about that.
Gordy attended Adley's first grade opera. I would have gone too, but the boys and I were already in Florida. Isn't she just a doll?!
There was this awesome double rainbow...
We love city creek shopping center so much. Jack particularly likes the stream with the fish that runs through the mall, the dinosaur playground, the waterfall outside of the food court, and the splash pad!
We visited Hill Air Force Base with Adam, Amanda, and Gordon and Sandy. My niece Tyler, and one of her little friends came along too. It was really interesting to see so many different airplanes, and to have a personal tour guide who knew so much about each of them (thanks Adam!).
Of course, we've had lots of play time with our cousins. We were all hopeful that Jack and Stone would be best of friends since they are so close in age, but it is taking them a while to figure each other out. They are starting to get the hang of each other now, and it is so cute to watch them play when they can actually get along. Silly boys.
Jonny and Alli visited. We ate dinner and then went to the SLC Bee's game. It was so fun to see them and their cute little Sophie again. They are such good friends, we always have fun with them.
Gordy and I went out to our favorite Sushi restaurant, The Naked Fish, to celebrate being done with Law School. It was delicious and expensive.
I did a solo hike up Ensign Peak one morning. The view was so gorgeous and peaceful, but I'll admit that I was worried someone would pop out of the bushes at any moment and attack me. I probably won't be doing any solo hiking any more.
Charlie has been learning how to stand up, so he CONSTANTLY has bruises on his noggin. On this particular day he bruised his forehead in several spots, slammed his finger in a cabinet, busted his lip, and he had a cold. Poor miserable little guy. He had a hard day, and an early bed time that day.
I got to help out my friend Brynn. She has a darling little florist shop in downtown SLC called Blooms and Co. She had five weddings in one week and was looking for a little extra help. I had the absolute best time helping her. She is such an incredible person, fun to talk to and be around, and oh, so very talented. I learned a lot just from helping her those few days.
We've spent some time hanging out with Trent, Heidi, and Mia. Such a fun family!
We had a Sunday evening walk around the Capitol building.
Liberty Park is my new favorite place, so we've spent a lot of time there, feeding the ducks, playing in the stream, strolling around, and playing at the park/splash pad. It is the absolute best.
Jack is still just as silly and energetic as ever.
I love when my boys find ways to play nicely with each other. It makes all of the difficult moments worth it. Currently, hiding in this cabinet is a favorite pastime of both boys.
It's been a really hot summer, so we've gone out for ice cream several times. Charlie has really developed a love for it. He pretty much attacks ice cream when ever it comes into view.
Summer time means grilling! YUM!
And we've spent some time down at the park by Gordon and Sandy's house. Mostly, we'll just go down there while Gordy is playing tennis with a family member of friend. Jack even got a mini tennis lesson once. Every time he would swing he would say, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand BAM!" Haha. Love that kid.
Even though things have been slightly stressful and busy with Gordy studying for the bar, we've been having a lot of fun here in Utah this summer.
