Charlie, 7 Months

Our little Charlie Parley is 7 Months old! This has been a month of big change for Charlie. It seems like all of the sudden he made a huge leap in development.

The week after he turned 6 months, he finally decided to roll over from his back to his tummy. He does it all the time now.

Charlie is so stinkin' ticklish and he has the cutest laugh I've ever heard.  I'm glad he's such a happy little fellow, because he shares his laugh with us all day long. It's the best!

Charlie has started to take baths with Jack. He absolutely ADORES Jack and he thinks that bath time with his brother is the coolest part of the day.

This kid LOVES to watch tv. He's always been captivated by it.

Charlie has started using sippy cups. He's really good about holding onto it himself, but he usually just chews on it instead of actually drinking. I think it's because he never learned how to use a bottle and he absolutely refuses to take a binky. I'm sure he'll catch the hang of it soon.

Charlie is pretty much over baby food. He's really only interested in what Jack is eating, but seeing as how Charlie doesn't have any teeth yet, we still have to coax him into eating the jars of baby food. When we do convince him to eat his baby food, he usually insists on holding the spoon and putting it into his mouth himself. Of course this makes for quite the mess. Oh well, such is meal time with a baby.

Charlie has been really noisy this month. He's been experimenting with sounds he can make. It's fun to hear his little voice. He started making the "babababa" sound this month. His noises aren't much fun when he decides he wants to practice shrieking though. Silly boy.

Charlie is finally getting a noticeable patch of hair on his noggin. Personally, I love his little bald head, but the hair is cute too.

When we kiss Charlie, he tries to make a kissing noise by smacking his tongue against the roof of his mouth. It's darling.

Charlie is still waking up like five thousand times a night, or so it seems to me. Really it's more like 4-6 times, but that's still a lot. Especially, because I'm the only one he wants. All he wants is to nurse back to sleep. So, in an effort to curtail the night waking, Charlie is now officially sleeping in the crib in the nursery, and Jack is sleeping in the pack-n-play in our bedroom to avoid Charlie's noises during the night. The hope is, as soon as we can get Charlie down to waking up once a night, then we can move Jack back into the room with Charlie. Oh the lengths parents go to to get a good night sleep.... Sleep training was actually going pretty well, and then we went to Florida for a week and everything got screwed up again. You parents out there know what I'm talking about... Every little cold, new tooth, vacation, etc. totally throws a wrench in sleep training plans.  Keep your fingers crossed that sleep training goes well so we can have our bedroom, sleep, and sanity back soon!

Charlie is a bashful little guy. If you smile at him, he smiles back but then buries his head in your shoulder. This might be one of my favorite things he does. It's so, so sweet.

This month, Charlie started to reach for people and things that he wants. When he wants me to pick him up, he holds his arms up to me, opens and closes his fists, and grunts at me until I pick him up. I love it.

Remember how I mentioned that Charlie likes to laugh? Well, he'll have a a laughing conversation with you. He starts it off by getting a big smile on his face and making a noise in the back of this throat while inhaling. Then, he expects you to do it back to him, and so it goes, back and forth until you are both laughing.

Charlie learned how to wave this month. It is so precious so see him wave with his entire arm!

He is still taking three naps a day.

He is very curious, with big blue eyes. He is exploring everything he can get his hands on by putting it into his mouth.

Charlie is pretty much obsessed with any little boy from the ages of 2-9. He lights up, starts squealing, and kicking his arms and legs when ever he sees a little guy.

We thought that Charlie was about to cut his first tooth this month. He had a bump on his top right tooth in the front and he's been drooling like a maniac, but nothing has come through yet.

This month, Charlie has been a bit of a challenge with his sleeping through the night, but other than that, he is an absolute doll. Sometimes, I just look at him and appreciate how sweet he is. He really is such a good and happy baby. We just love him to pieces.
